SO THANKFUL FOR SUNDAYS AND BRISKET + LINKS

July 21, 2014

I am never so thankful for a day of rest as I am after working a six day week. I love what I’m doing (peaches…in the rare chance you haven’t heard me mention it before), but Sundays are such a gift. I was feeling pretty worn and tired at the end of Saturday, but a ten hour night of sleep plus a few naps on Sunday definitely helped get me back on my feet.

Oh, and brisket helped too. I’m not a big red meat eater, but when my husband makes his smoked brisket, I cannot.stop.eating.it. My brother had supper with us on Saturday night, and kept looking at me weird when I kept going on about how good this meat was. Seriously, it’s that good. Ben and I have this little idea for our retirement where we will open up a little restaurant with a barbecue-bacon-wrapped-everything-man-food side and a salad-bar-veggie-burger-woman-food side…but if there was such a place and it was serving his smoked brisket, I would definitely be eating off of the man-food menu.

We don’t have a whole lot going on this week (besides work), which is cool since the last few weeks have been a little busy. We do have a nifty little appointment with some salesman tonight who is coming over to give us some kind of air filtering appliance that I so happened to win in a raffle that I randomly entered at a local fair a few weeks ago, and I’m pretty sure he will try to sell us other stuff after giving us the free stuff. It should be interesting because he actually showed up last week for this appointment, but Ben was late getting home from work and for whatever reason, we are both required to be at this “presentation,” and this salesman is super SUPER SUPER awkward. Should be fun!

Have a great week!

Let me know how those carmalized peaches turn out. I've grilled peaches before which is delicious but that receipts looked amazing!

I loved those random acts of kindness ideas! Inspiring…

Also I see you discovered texture spray too! Seems like a potentially cool thing!
