JANUARY FAVORITES

I find it incredibly hard to believe that January is over…didn’t we just have Christmas and holidays? It’s been a good month, and probably with our travels and trip to Texas it made it go by that much faster. I’m looking forward to February, since we have a few fun events coming up and family visits (my parents come next weekend!). Ben’s mom is here with us from Thailand until the end of the month, and we’ve really enjoyed having her around again. Her life and spirit just makes us smile!

Here are a few favorites from January:

SONG – I’m obsessed with this one! The lyrics are powerful and it inspires me every time I listen to it to be the kind of person and live the kind of life that does give Jesus His deserved reward.

READ – My sister-in-law lent me this, and it’s been incredibly challenging and inspirational! 
DISCOVERY – This album. Peaceful.
RECIPE – Not a recipe per se, but I’ve been roasting brussel sprouts out the wazoo this month. Can’t.get.enough. I like them best by tossing them with oil and balsamic vinegar before roasting them. 
PURCHASE – This! I rarely buy cookbooks and tend to get more recipes and food ideas online, but I couldn’t resist this one. It’s full of fun recipes and beautiful photographs.

MEMORY – Taking a spontaneous evening drive with Ben just so we could watch the brilliant Texas sunset.
NIGHT OUT – I took Ben out to a Brazilian steakhouse for his birthday when we were in Texas, and it was an incredible meal! I’m not a steak eater, but the meat they put on my plate was beyond scrumptious. 
CHALLENGE – “A fool has no delight in understanding, but in expressing his own heart.” {Prov. 18:2} Listen more, talk less.

  1. I love how your blog so open, white, & fresh looking. I feel like I can breath when I click over here. 🙂
    I loved how January was about people for me. Almost everyday I had someone over or when to someone's house. Friendships are so important and valuable. And being the people person that I am, it does my soul some good to interact with other ladies 🙂

  2. Aw, thanks, Jolynn! I sometimes wish I would be able to put together colors and patterns like some people can, but it's just not my talent. Whites, neutrals, and solids are safer for me. 🙂 And so true, lady-friends are so valuable and essential to fueling those happy feelings!

  3. what a great way to review the month! I may need to do this myself! And last year I did a bible study following the book you mentioned. so amazingly good and convicting!
